Mitsubishi has teamed up with Japan Delivery System Corp. to create a system for integrating charging stations into large apartment complexes. The technology aims to create additional opportunities for urban charging, other than those found in workplace or retail locations. According to IBM VP of Electricity and Utilities, Alan Schurr, 80 percent of drivers park their vehicles in locations other than personal garages. By offering a service for urban residents, this technology offers a promising chance at large scale integration of electric vehicles.
